Broadband Line Modem
refers to the ADSL modem are not limited to the "voiceband" audio frequencies carried over the telephone line.

ADSL modems usually come with subscription for a broadband line and will be provided by the broadband line provider.



Analog Telephony Adapter (ATA)


An Analog Telephony Adapter, or ATA, is a device used to connect one or more standard analog telephones to a Voice over Internet Protocol network base.



Softphone


Softphone
refers to a software that acts like a phone when installed onto a desktop, notebook or IPAQ. This software can be downloaded through the internet for free. The interface of the softphone is as shown in picture across.

Once installed, user will be able to make calls using their desktop or notebook or IPAQ using the VoB technology.
